Our client is an established International Freight Forwarder and Logistics provider who looks to support a range of clients across the UK. They are looking to add an Operations Manager to their Basildon site who will be responsible for the daily operations, logistics team and ensuring customer satisfaction. The Operations Manager role would be suited to someone with experience of 3PL and Contract Logistics. 

The role will focus on managing the daily forwarding operations controlled at the Basildon site mainly imported via Ocean Freight; stored and then picked on site; and then transported to their final destination via a range of courier methods. The role will focus on managing the operation; dealing with any inefficiencies and looking to improve process. The role will also require management of a small team within the warehouse and supporting staff; ensuring they deliver a high level of customer service whilst also looking to train and up skill the team. The role will also have a focus on customer service; ensuring SLAs are met and process improved where possible to increase revenue within the contracts. 

The right candidate will have at least 3 years experience in a managerial or supervisory position with experience of ocean freight; Customs and UK/European Haulage. A strong leader who is able to motivate the team whilst working under tight deadlines and high pressure. The right person will be able to deliver excellent customer service and create lasting relationships with customers. Ideally a high attention to detail and ability to spot trends; make changes and deliver improvements as to efficiencies and other key performance indicators.
