Our client is an established International Freight Forwarder and Logistics provider who looks to support a range of clients across the UK. Our client is looking to recruit for a Customs Clerk to join their Basildon branch handling customs entries for both import and export. 

The role will focus on preparing and submitting full customs entries; liaising with customers to collect relevant documentation and ensuring smooth process for customers throughout. The role will also focus on ensuring jobs are invoiced correctly and dealing with HMRC related matters to ensure correct tariffs and duties have been paid. The role has a high administrative aspect and so experience in a similar role or environment working to tight deadlines would be beneficial. 

The right candidate would have experience with custom entries across Import and Export; our client is open to someone having had this experience in air, ocean, road or a combination of these. Ideally the person would be an excellent communicator and have a background in customer service alongside import operations. Experience of CargoWise would be an advantage but our client will give the relevant training.  

On offer is an attractive starting salary of £25,000 - £30,000 per annum depending on experience. Along with a number of company benefits such as on site car parking; employee discount schemes and 23 days holiday (+ Bank Holidays) with the ability to grow this to 28 days over service.
